Responsibilities
The People & Culture Manager supports the effective delivery of People & Culture (P&C) practices within the country organization by partnering closely with managers and employees. This role focuses on the practical implementation of P&C policies, processes, and programs, ensuring they are applied consistently and in line with company standards and local legislation.
Acting as a trusted advisor to managers, the P&C Manager provides hands-on guidance in employee relations, performance management, organizational changes, and day-to-day people matters.
The P&C Manager plays a key role in delivering core P&C initiatives such as the annual performance cycle, reward processes, and engagement activities, translating broader organizational priorities into effective local execution. The role also supports talent attraction, retention, and development efforts to strengthen overall business performance.
What you’ll do:
- Implement and support People & Culture initiatives within the country organization, including recruitment, payroll coordination, compensation processes, and engagement activities.
- Provide practical guidance to managers on P&C policies and procedures, coaching them to ensure fair, consistent, and compliant decision-making.
- Deliver and support key People & Culture programs such as performance management, reward processes, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support organization, ensuring smooth implementation and compliance with local employment legislation.
- Advise and guide managers on employee relations matters, including grievances and disciplinary processes, ensuring cases are handled professionally, fairly, and in line with policy and legal requirements.
- Lead and develop the local HR team, providing direction, support, and development opportunities to ensure effective service delivery and team growth.
Requirements
Key qualifications:
- At least 5 years in HR Manager or equivalent position.
- Experience in work with blue-collar employees company will be beneficial.
- In depth knowledge of Hungarian employment legislation.
- Excellent Hungarian and English language skills.
- Demonstrable experience in managing a broad range of People & Culture activities, including employee relations, change management, and policy implementation, with a track record of building strong partnerships across the business.
- Proven experience assessing complex workplace issues and facilitating constructive dialogue between managers and employees, resulting in fair, mutually beneficial outcomes and a reduction in formal grievances.
- Experience designing, implementing, and embedding P&C initiatives and solutions that align with business objectives and enhance organisational effectiveness.
- Demonstrable ability to build and sustain productive partnerships with managers and teams across the business.
- Clear, confident communicator with the ability to adapt style and tailor approach for diverse audiences and complex situations.
