We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our HR team in Budapest and ensure that our employees are paid accurately, on time, and in full compliance with Hungarian laws and internal processes. In this role, you’ll manage the end‑to‑end payroll cycle, support employees with payroll‑related matters, and contribute to creating a smooth and reliable payroll experience across our Hungary Delivery Center.

  • Process the full monthly payroll cycle, including salaries, benefits, taxes, and sick leave payments
  • Ensure all payroll activities comply with relevant laws (Labor Code, Tax, Social Security, Family Support)
  • Manage payroll related actions for new hires and leavers
  • Maintain and update payroll data in Nexon, including leave days, sick leave types, and working time records
  • Collect and verify documentation such as sick leave certificates, previous employer certificates, travel cost reimbursements, and child related forms
  • Handle Social Security tasks, such as validating Social Security Books, requesting TAJ numbers, and preparing A1 forms for deputed associates
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to external authorities (Tax Office, KSH, Social Security Office)
  • Provide payroll data and reports to internal Finance teams within agreed timelines
  • Support audits by providing timely and accurate payroll information
  • Deliver payroll related training during induction and internal development programs
  • Participate in meetings, projects, and continuous learning activities to stay updated on payroll regulations
  • Act as backup for payroll colleagues as part of the team’s backup plan
  • Economist degree or equivalent
  • Payroll and/or Social Security specific education
  • 2-3 years of experience with Nexon payroll system
  • Advanced English skills (written and spoken)
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information
  • Solid understanding of Hungarian payroll legislation and reporting processes
  • Good communication, organization, and teamwork skills
