Tasks:
Payroll Operations & Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in line with local legislation, internal policies, and client agreements.
- Take full responsibility for payroll administration and execution for both internal employees and the temporary/agency workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of all payroll-related activities.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of payroll-related declarations, reports, and social security contributions within legally required deadlines.
- Guarantee compliance with labor law, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Maintain and continuously improve payroll and HR administration processes.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the Payroll team to maximize service quality, efficiency, and performance.
- Plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the activities of Payroll department employees.
- Foster a customer-focused and high-performance culture within the team.
Systems & Process Management
- Oversee the maintenance, optimization, and upgrades of payroll and HR systems.
- Ensure the accurate production of payroll documents, reports, and employee records.
- Drive process improvements and contribute to the enhancement of payroll service offerings.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related matters with clients, authorities, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide expert guidance on payroll administration and labor law topics to clients and employees.
- Participate in meetings with existing and prospective clients and support the preparation of payroll service proposals.
- Ensure timely responses to payroll-related inquiries from employees and customers.
Reporting & Financial Coordination
- Coordinate monthly payroll activities for internal and external customers.
- Ensure the accuracy of payroll data and related accounting entries.
- Manage the preparation of monthly accounting notes and payroll-related reports for internal operations and designated clients.
- Deliver management and client reporting accurately and on time.
Requirements:
- Fluent English AND Hungarian, both written and spoken.
- Minimum 5 years of payroll experience in a complex payroll environment, ideally managing payroll for 500+ employees, including part-time employees, shift workers, and overtime arrangements.
- Strong knowledge of local labor law, payroll administration, social security contributions, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll processes and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery for both internal employees and temporary/agency workforce populations.
- Hands-on experience with payroll systems; Navision experience is considered a strong advantage.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to change, drive continuous improvement, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team management, coaching, performance development, strategic thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to drive operational efficiency and business results.
