We are looking for our new
Senior Gas&Power Trader
who will
Lead, manage and maintain gas&power supply and trading business and developments through market information, pricing/product development, and innovative business opportunities. Managing MOL Group's energy demand cost-effectively and profitably. Responsible for initiating, executing, and controlling physical positions and 3rd party transactions (e.g., wholesale or retail).
Tasks
Lead MOL Group's gas&power supply and trading strategy implementation, propose and update strategies, and develop business reports and presentations for decision-making
Generate innovative solutions for cost savings and margin/EBITDA enhancement, develop and implement new gas&power trading opportunities, and track and report gas&power PnL developments
Develop new pricing, products, market analysis, and alternative monetization opportunities for the gas&power trading portfolio, and maintain and develop market relations to ensure up-to-date information flow, focusing on European and CEE regions
Coordinate and conclude long- and short-term deals on the Hungarian and regional gas&power markets via broker screens (e.g.: TFS, ICAP, GFI, etc.), exchanges, tenders, auctions and bilateral trading on the OTC market, including cross border capacity auctions for the purpose of MOL Group own asset optimization and margin on 3rd party open positions, keeps track and supervises deals through its full life-cycle
Initiate and responsible to manage the conclusion of standard (e.g.: EFET), non-standard and flexible gas&power purchase/sales contracts with market participants (e.g: power plants, gas producers, traders and end customers)
Contribute to the gas&power supply&sales management of the Renewable Energy, Hydrogen and Biogas related projects with representing the 2030+ Strategy targets together with the involvement of Group Gas&Power Supply&Trading teams
Provide support in gas&power purchasing of MOL Group's daughter companies (eg: OpCo’s in SK, RO, AU, SLO, IT, etc.). Support obtaining trading licenses in other countries for trading gas&power in line with the elaborated strategies and approvals (including the support of potential company establishments)
Ensure risk exposures in cooperation with risk management and derivative trading desks, ensuring risk-free/low risk market structures through hedging instruments (inventory hedging and price risk mitigations), optimizing P&L in line with Group risk policies/targets
Requirements
Has a BSc/MSc degree in economics or engineering
Speaks Hungarian and English on an advanced level
5+ years professional experience in energy market logistics or commercial activities
Outstanding knowledge of energy markets, logistics and infrastructure
Understanding of legal, financial, fiscal and operational aspects of physical trading
Experience in coordination and/or integration of different functionalities
Solid understanding market structure, pricing mechanisms, price risk and principles of its mitigation via inventory and position man-agement tools
Has a strong knowledge of MS Office, Trading platforms, ETRM system
