SENIOR EXPLORATION EXPERT

Location: Budapest, MOL Campus, XI. district (Easily accessible via Tram 1, Buses 107/154, or by car)

Join our Upstream Exploration team in a pivotal role where you’ll drive diverse exploration portfolio development processes. From prospect generation to project execution your contributions will shape the future of energy.

• Generate prospects using advanced seismic techniques and integrated petroleum geological evaluation in a timely and budget-conscious manner.

• Evaluate and interpret seismic data, plan new projects, and identify old data for reprocessing.

• Derisk prospects by applying depth conversion, mapping, and seismic tools to assess structural characteristics and fluid potential.

• Support operational decision-making during exploration well drilling and testing.

• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver regional studies and  joint projects, share knowledge across exploration and other technical units.

• Support technical reporting, well evaluations, and business development aligned with MOL’s exploration strategy.

• Mentor and support team members with your expertise.

Educational Background: You have a University or College degree in Geophysics, Geology or Geoscience.
 

Professional Experience: Preferably 15+ years, but at least 10+ years of work experience within Exploration geology and geophysics in the oil and gas industry,
 

Skills:

• Expert knowledge of siliciclastic, carbonate sedimentology and stratigraphy, hydrocarbon systems and in particular seismic interpretation,

• Petrophysical analysis, prospecting, drilling knowledge.

• Fluent in English both written and verbally. Hungarian knowledge is an advantage,

• Creative mindset, not afraid to bring ideas and make them possible,

• Teamwork with a result-oriented attitude,

• Proactivity with a problem solving mindset.
