Production manager

The Production Manager ensures the efficient, safe, and high-quality execution of all manufacturing activities at the site. By coordinating shifts and overseeing specific technology areas (extrusion, thermoform, print/enrob), the role secures reliable output that meets customer demand while aligning with global standards. The position is pivotal in balancing daily operational discipline with continuous improvement, ensuring that local production capacity supports the company’s global S&OP commitments.

The position reports into the Site Director/Site Manager and requires fluent Hungarian language knowledge.

Key responsibilities:
Production Operations Management

• Oversee daily production activities across extrusion, thermoform, print/enrobe lines.
• Ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Monitor equipment utilisation and optimise throughput.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and downtime.

Shift Coordination

• Plan and allocate resources across multiple shifts.
• Ensure smooth handovers between shifts with clear communication of priorities.
• Track labour efficiency and manage overtime within budget.

Quality & Compliance

• Guarantee compliance with global and local quality standards.
• Partner with Quality Assurance to resolve deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain documentation aligned with regulatory requirements.

Process Optimisation

• Drive lean manufacturing and efficiency projects.
• Collaborate with technical teams to improve process stability.
• Support S&OP alignment by ensuring production capacity matches demand plans.

Safety Leadership

• Ensure strict adherence to site safety standards and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability across shifts.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop shift supervisors and production staff.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Conduct performance reviews and succession planning.
• Promote cross-training to build workforce flexibility.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with Planning Manager to align production schedules with demand.
• Partner with Technical Manager on equipment maintenance and upgrades.
• Engage with global manufacturing excellence teams to share best practices.
• Communicate production performance to Site Director and global stakeholders.
