About the job
As Global Payroll Process Excellence Lead, you will own Opella’s end‑to‑end global payroll process design and governance across all regions. You will define standards, embed strong controls, and lead the global payroll operating model that ensures accuracy, compliance, and an excellent employee experience at scale.
This is a high‑impact, strategic role at the intersection of HR, Finance, and Technology, critical to Opella’s separation journey and transition to stand‑alone systems, tools, and services. You will drive harmonization, digitalization, and automation initiatives, establish a Global Payroll Center of Excellence, and act as a strategic partner to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and govern global payroll processes, standards, and controls across all regions.
- Ensure compliance with multi‑country regulations and proactively manage payroll‑related risks.
- Lead global transformation initiatives focused on standardization, automation, and digitalization.
- Drive the global payroll technology roadmap and implement innovative solutions that improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate global stakeholders (HR, Finance, IT, vendors) to ensure consistent, high‑quality payroll execution.
- Establish KPIs, analytics, and financial governance to optimize performance, cost, and decision‑making.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in payroll leadership and managing multi‑country payroll operations and projects.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and shape global payroll strategy in complex environments.
- Strong technical expertise in global payroll compliance, systems, integrations, and automation technologies.
- Financial expertise to build business cases, model ROI, manage budgets, and interpret P&L impact.
- Demonstrated success managing large‑scale global vendors and long‑term service contracts.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑cultural leadership capabilities.
- Languages: Fluency in English required; additional languages are a plus.
