Responsibilities

  • Support of routine daily activities for system design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of all network infrastructure components
  • Assistance in implementation of enhanced network technology aligning to customers' strategic direction for enterprise and remote site connectivity
  • Following standards for global network infrastructure including wireless, LAN and SD-WAN networks and connectivity
  • Support of installation, testing, and setup of new network hardware both physical and virtual including firewalls, routers, switching, monitoring hardware and software
  • Execution of engineering efforts to ensure currency and supportability of networking technology
  • Collation of data, reports and information supporting technology lifecycle planning including contribution to development of technology roadmaps and Network Health Assessments
  • Organisation of material and data for documentation, knowledge transfer and training to successfully land new solutions into the support organisation
  • Undertaking activities contributing to implementation of core and cloud infrastructure security to manage risks and exposure
  • Support in implementation of ways to improve working processes within Network Engineering
  • Assistance with IP and optical network capacity planning including traffic growth analysis and demand forecasting
  • Analysis of utilization, throughput, latency, and error metrics from network elements and links
  • Building and maintenance of Excel-based planning models including pivot tables, formulas, macros, and charts
  • Support of development and maintenance of network topology models including routers, links, and optical paths
  • Assistance in evaluation of network expansion scenarios, upgrade options, and cost/performance trade-offs
  • Support of planning activities related to router port utilization, interface capacity, and optics selection
  • Documentation of planning assumptions, network designs, and engineering recommendations
  • Collaboration with network engineering, operations, and architecture teams to validate data and planning outputs
  • Support of ad-hoc technical analysis and reporting requests

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Networking, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for technical analysis including formulas, pivot tables, charts, data validation
  • Solid understanding of IP networking fundamentals including Layer 2 / Layer 3 concepts, routing and switching principles, and basic routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP at conceptual level
  • Experience working with large datasets and performing quantitative analysis
  • Ability to interpret technical data and translate it into planning recommendations
  • Strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving skills
  • Introductory knowledge of router hardware, line cards, interfaces, and port speeds (1G/10G/100G+)
  • Basic understanding of optical networking including fiber types and basic optical link concepts, DWDM systems and transceivers such as SFP+ and QSFP+
  • Familiarity with network diagrams, logical and physical topology representations
  • Exposure to planning, monitoring, or inventory tools
  • Experience with additional analysis tools such as Power BI, SQL, or Python
  • Understanding of network growth modeling and capacity thresholds
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot or similar AI tools to help draft summaries, improve written communication, and speed up everyday tasks
  • Comfort using AI tools responsibly
