Responsibilities

Design and implement pipelines to ingest, clean, and transform data into Data Lakes and Data Warehouses
Active monitoring and optimization of pipelines for performance and cost
Configuration of pipeline deployments and management of environment settings using IaC tools and CI/CD
Implementation of data quality checks and ensuring data integrity
Communication with stakeholders to clarify requirements and provide technical guidance and code reviews to Junior engineers

Requirements

Proficiency in core languages Python or Scala with OOP
Advanced and analytical SQL skills
Experience with compute and storage platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Synapse, Redshift
Experience with orchestration tools like Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Dagster
Experience with transformation tools dbt Core or Cloud, Spark or PySpark with optimization focus
Implementation experience with infrastructure tools Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes
At least 2 years of hands-on data engineering experience in ETL or ELT
Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts including Star and Snowflake Schema and Data Lake principles such as Medallion Architecture
Proven experience with Databricks managing clusters and notebooks, Azure Data Factory pipelines and data flows, Snowflake
Proficiency in Python including OOP and functional programming and strong SQL skills for complex transformations
Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure) and its data services
Base understanding of Infrastructure as Code with ability to deploy and modify infrastructure resources independently
Ability to communicate technical decisions directly to clients and the team

Nice-to-have

Experience setting up complex modules in Terraform or Pulumi
Hands-on experience with Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg features such as Time Travel and Schema Evolution
Experience modeling data for NoSQL databases like MongoDB and DynamoDB
Associate-level cloud certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or Databricks Certified Data Engineer
