Responsibilities

Designing security solutions based on BT’s security portfolio technologies
Implementing security solutions
Testing security solutions
Handing over security solutions to service
Creating value through technology for security design across complex multiple platforms and/or technology areas
Delivering bespoke, complex, high impact and high value work
Providing technical expertise and consultancy on technical issues and approach
Providing industry leadership on cutting edge technology
Consulting and advising senior stakeholders on high profile customer solutions
Providing technical thought-leadership impacting business revenue or cost
Preparing and delivering high quality network designs and/or customer solutions
Maintaining overall solution documents
Defining and agreeing project scope, time, budget and resources
Providing technical consultancy for large multinational customers and business partners
Coordinating or supervising a global team of network designers
Leading a matrix team of technical experts to deliver network design solutions
Providing technical guidance to a larger matrix team
Being responsible for end-to-end technical solution
Acting as a technical ambassador for the company
Establishing design best practice within a unit
Developing proof of concept designs and technical configuration guidelines for security products
Ensuring designs fulfil customer expectations and align with security principles
Displaying excellent customer-facing skills
Completing implementation requests per specifications and schedule
Managing multiple projects and working with various BT teams
Maintaining understanding of key security products and becoming a Subject Matter Expert
Working flexibly including out of hours for transition and transformation change windows

Requirements

CCNP / CCSE / PCNSE certification
Expert-level understanding of firewall technologies (Juniper SRX, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Cisco Meraki, Firepower, Palo Alto)
Load balancing knowledge (Juniper Junos Space, MX, EX; Cisco ISE, Nexus; F5 LTM, GTM, AIP)
Network design (HLD/LLD) skills
Next-generation network security knowledge (IDS/IPS, content inspection, WAFs)
Ability to meet customers’ needs in line with business requirements
Ability to explain and present difficult technical concepts to various audiences including senior management
Ability to lead a team of network designers and support their professional development
Cooperative and positive attitude in group settings
Self-motivation and ability to work in a team environment
Ability to work in a process-intensive and complex environment
Attention to detail and high accuracy in task delivery
Excellent written and presentation skills
Analytical thinking and designer mindset
Industry accreditation at professional/expert level (e.g. Check Point)
Experience creating high quality technical designs, customer-facing proposals and detailed cost models
Ability to interpret customer needs and identify solutions to standard and non-standard requirements
Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with security gateways (Cisco Firepower, ASA, Check Point, Palo Alto plus appropriate managers)
Knowledge of cloud security proxies (Zscaler, Palo Alto Prisma)
Knowledge of other security solutions (IDS/IPS, VPN, remote access solutions)
Experience deploying network and security services for large organizations
Skills with diagnostic tools and ability to interpret and analyse output
Knowledge of IP networking and security-related technologies
Security-related certifications (Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Check Point CCSE/CCSM)
Fluent English (written and spoken)

Nice-to-have

Knowledge of Python
Knowledge of Kubernetes
Knowledge of Ansible
Knowledge of automation and RESTful APIs
