Our Client
Our client is one of the world's leading healthcare companies, operating in more than 150 countries.
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Country Chief Accountant fluent in both English and Romanian.
Tasks
As a Chief Accountant, you will coordinate with Finance teams and execute month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate closure of accounts in compliance with the month-end close checklist. You will act as a Functional Lead supervising and representing the professional processes to stakeholders.
- Oversee financial reporting, ICFR documentation, and internal controls
- Manage month-end and year-end closings, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement accuracy
- Handle IFRS 16 Leasing, manual journal entries, and management accounting
- Supervise Accounts Receivable, including billing approvals, debtor aging, and sales reporting
- Oversee Accounts Payable operations and cash flow management (fund forecasting, transfers, banking)
- Maintain master data (Chart of Accounts, Cost/Profit Centers, WBS, vendors, customers, UCI)
- Manage statutory tax reporting, reconciliations, and coordination with tax consultants and auditors
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations
- Act as primary liaison for Budapest Finance and affiliate Finance Managers, providing financial guidance and support.
Requirements
- Proficiency in English and Romanian
- Strong knowledge of IFRS principles and end-to-end accounting processes
- At least 5 years of experience in a related accounting field
- University degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software, preferably SAP.
