Business Data Analyst

AxFina is a European investment and servicing group focused on the acquisition, management, and recovery of non-performing loan (NPL) portfolios across Central and Eastern Europe. We work with portfolios in multiple countries and provide investors with data-driven insights, valuation models, and portfolio management expertise. We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Data Analyst to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or junior professional who enjoys working with data, financial analysis, and business intelligence in an international environment.

Validate and reconcile portfolio data received from business partners,

Review large datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness,

Maintain portfolio databases and support ongoing data quality improvements,

Assist with monthly reporting and performance monitoring across multiple countries,

Analyze loan portfolio performance, recovery trends, and collection results,

Prepare portfolio stratifications and segmentation analyses based on factors such as legal stage, collateral type, geography, and portfolio characteristics,

Monitor portfolio KPIs and identify trends, risks, and opportunities,

Participate in periodic business travel across Europe to support portfolio reviews, due diligence projects, meetings with servicing partners, and strategic initiatives,

Support management with ad-hoc analytical requests and business reviews,

Assist in evaluating potential portfolio acquisitions and investment opportunities,

Support the preparation of financial models, cash flow projections, and sensitivity analyses,

Contribute to portfolio valuation exercises and performance reviews,

Help prepare investment presentations and management reports,

Produce recurring management reports and business performance summaries,

Prepare presentations and analytical materials for internal and external stakeholders,

Work closely with country managers, finance teams, and portfolio management teams across Europe,

Support strategic projects, due diligence exercises, and business development initiatives.

Bachelor's degree (or final year student) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field,

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis),

Basic SQL or database query writing skills,

Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with large datasets,

Good communication skills in English,

Willingness to travel internationally within Europe for short business trips (typically a few days per month),

Curiosity and willingness to learn financial and investment concepts.

We are looking for someone who enjoys solving analytical problems, working with data, and understanding how businesses make investment decisions and do performance management of those investments. Prior experience in NPLs is not required. If you are naturally curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with Excel and data, we can teach you the rest.
