• In this project, Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) is our primary tool. You won't just be an observer; you will be an architect of matter. Your responsibilities will include:
• Designing and growing high-quality semiconductor heterostructures.

• Develop and apply frequency comb spectroscopy setups and utilize the existing CARS and QCLAS setups
• Apply the laser diagnostics to measure molecular species in atmospheric pressure plasmas related to plasma catalysis, such as COx, NOx, H2O2.

Develop and apply THz absorption spectroscopy and cavity-enhanced spectroscopy setups to measure atomic (O, Al) and molecular species (NO) and apply the existing E-FISH setup to measure electric fields in atmospheric pressure plasmas related to plasma catalysis...

Detailed characterization of pristine HSDP2 samples, as well as samples that have undergone thermal analysis, using a variety of techniques....

• Apply the frequency comb spectroscopy diagnostics to measure molecular species in low pressure plasmas related to industrial processes
• Develop and apply machine learning algorithms for data analysis and data-driven physics-constrained correlation mining

• Select suitable wave-optical propagation algorithms from in-house or open-source implementations
• Select relevant use cases and appropriate evaluation metrics
• Develop Python code for the evaluation and visualization of various propagation algorithms for selected applications

This position in Greifswald will concentrate on understanding what is necessary to optimize the magnetic geometry of the divertor island chain and to develop suitable metrics for integration into appropriate optimization approaches...
