About the job 

The main purpose of the role is ensuring the proper operation of the European unit’s taxation focusing on VAT. Role include responsibility for the extraction and analysis of accounting data for the VAT returns. Supporting end-to-end activities and support GL and AP accountants.

Your key tasks

  • Preparing VAT returns/Intrastat/EC sales and purchases reporting
  • Performing VAT reconciliation tasks and investigating/correcting differences
  • Participate in VAT compliance software implementation
  • Contacting and informing/communicating with colleagues within SSC and Global ESAB (including unit controllers) if needed
  • Supporting statutory audit
  • Preparing VAT, VIES, EC sales reports and filings

What we are looking for

  • Economics or Finance & Accounting BA/BSc degree
  • 2 years of relevant experience in Accounting, VAT experience is an advantage
  • Fluency in English & Hungarian (both written and verbal)
  • Experience and understanding of major ERP systems
  • Excel skills and general IT literacy
  • Outstanding attention to details
  • Developed analytical, Excellent interpersonal & Problem solving skills
  • Ability to meet priorities and deadlines, and to work under time pressure
  • Ability to work independently and in team
