Third Party & DRP Planner

The 3rd Party Supply & DRP Planner is responsible for creating an unconstrained 24‑month stock movement plan across the European distribution network to support customer service and operational targets. The role develops a feasible packed‑goods deployment plan to maximise stock availability and minimise obsolescence. It includes managing and evaluating third‑party suppliers in line with BP’s Supplier Performance Management guidelines and Service Level Agreements, covering service, cost, quality, and compliance aspects. The Planner monitors supply shortage alerts, performs root cause analyses, and drives continuous improvement actions. Additionally, the role ensures accurate demand inputs from Market Demand Managers are reflected in the planning system to support effective DRP execution.

  • Monitors supply shortages and excess stock, taking corrective actions and driving continuous improvement.
  • Represents planning in key market and demand control meetings to support inventory management.
  • Maintains SKU-level inventory targets and collaborates on accurate master data for planning processes.
  • Ensures product lifecycle changes are reflected in distribution and deployment plans, including phase in/out management.
  • Validates warehouse classifications and safety stocks for SKUs, supporting stock mix optimization.
  • Acts as primary contact for third-party suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate supply of finished products across Europe.
  • Creates and manages procurement plans and orders to optimize inventory and minimize obsolescence.
  • Conducts regular supply and demand reviews with suppliers, resolving imbalances and reporting supply performance.
  • Supports raw materials planning, delivery, and payment processes for third-party production facilities.
  • Escalates supply risks and quality issues, participates in crisis management, and contributes to centralized planning and network optimization.
  • University/College degree preferably in economics
  • Absolute fluency in “business English” is mandatory
  • Fleuncy in German or Spanish is an advantage
  • Highly analytical, numerate with a strong attention to detail.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working across a variety of supply chain planning roles.
  • Ability to guide others in their work and occasionally stand in to management level.
  • Knowledge and experience of Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) and a good understanding of its importance to the business.
  • High degree of computer literacy including advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and business reporting tools (e.g. Tableau/PowerBI).
  • Knowledge and use of SAP/Kinaxis Maestro
  • Has the drive and insight to take action wherever it is required. Enthusiastically seeks additional responsibility.
  • Able to work well under sustained pressure with conflicting demands, optimizing resources and responding to fast changing circumstances.
  • Rapidly identifies key issues in a complex situation. Makes the complex simple.
  • Problem solving
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in Sales and Customer management within the Lubricants business, finance or supply chain is desirable
