Responsibilities
Job Description
We are currently looking for a Tender and Procurement Engineer/Mechanical to join a top qualified and knowledgeable team of Engineers at our main office in Budapest. As a Tender and Procurement Engineer, your primary functions are to provide draft quotations for internal and external customers and to manage our company's procurement activities based on Mechanical Engineering areas.
Main Duties
The Tender and Procurement Engineer’s responsibilities will be:
- Provide a complete and professional support for technical inquiries, tendering and quotations follow-up in addition to the procurement activities.
- Draft technical quotes with a suggested net selling price based on mechanical diagrams, lists of material, tender documents, technical data, product lists from competitor’s catalogues by cooperating with Technical Office Managers.
- Assist internal and external stakeholders with product selection and application assistance via email and phone.
- Investigate the market with specifications and performance requirements for products
- Research and identifying prospective suppliers
- Analyse industry and demand trends and supporting senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
- Prepare reports and maintaining accurate inventory and procurement records
- Liaise with internal project teams and maintaining strong supplier relations
- Prepare proposals, requesting quotes, and negotiating purchase terms and conditions
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
- Track, and expedite the supply
- Ensure that the purchased products and materials meet specific technical specifications
- Negotiate purchase terms
- Analyse technical and commercial data based on the responses received
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance.
- Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolving shortcomings
- Recommend those most desirable
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering fields.
- 3+ years of experience as a tender and procurement engineer or in a similar role
- Preferably with construction site and purchasing experience,
- Good working knowledge of quotation, procurement strategies, international standards and tender processes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation skills and analytical thinking.
- Native-level Hungarian skills required
- Fluent in English
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems.
- Team player with strong organizational skills.
