Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of institutional surveys (e.g., student feedback; first-year survey; graduate outcomes, faculty, staff, and employer surveys)
- Coordinate survey timelines across the academic year, including monitoring response rates and actively following up to improve participation
- Clean, structure, and analyse survey datasets using established internal data pipelines
- Interpret results critically, identifying trends, patterns, and potential issues in the data
- Prepare clear, structured reports and visual materials tailored to academic and professional audiences
- Co-present survey findings to faculty and internal stakeholders, explaining key insights and methodology
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of survey design, methodology, and data quality
- Support ad hoc data requests related to quality assurance and enhancement, accreditation, and regulatory reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sociology, Psychology, Market Research or similar)
- Hands-on experience with surveys (e.g., through academic research, thesis work, internship, or professional role)
- Experience using survey tools such as LimeSurvey, Qualtrics, or similar
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data beyond surface-level results
- Ability to produce clear, structured written reports
- Ability to take ownership of recurring survey processes, working independently while keeping relevant stakeholders informed
- Good communication skills and confidence to explain findings (with support)
- Advanced (C1) level written and oral English
- Good IT skills (incl. confident use of Microsoft Excel for data handling and analysis) and openness to learning new tools and systems
- Curiosity and willingness to engage with survey design and interpretation
Nice-to-have
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, with demonstrated experience in research or data analysis
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Basic knowledge of Python or similar scripting languages for data handling
- Experience presenting findings to stakeholders
- Interest in developing more advanced analytical approaches (e.g., segmentation or predictive modelling)

You will be joining the Centre for Quality Assurance and Enhancement, supporting institutional data collection, analysis, and quality improvement activities across the School. The role involves working with established, standardised survey instruments aligned with international best practices, as well as contributing to the design and refinement of surveys for a diverse, international academic community. You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and contribute directly to enhancing the student, faculty, and staff experience.
The Centre for Quality Assurance and Enhancement at IBS is looking for a part-time Survey Data Analyst to support the delivery and analysis of key institutional surveys across the academic year. In this role, you will work with feedback from students, faculty, staff, and graduates, contributing to evidence-based decision-making and quality enhancement within a highly international higher education setting. You will engage with both established, standardised survey instruments (e.g., UK National Student Survey and HESA Graduate Outcomes Survey) and the development of new surveys tailored to a highly diverse, international academic community. The role is ideal for an early-career candidate with a background in survey-based research who is interested in applying and further developing their methodological and analytical skills in this environment.
