Responsibilities

Assistance in the establishment of a dataset on EU finances
Bibliographic research on existing relevant datasets, their setup and use
Bibliographic research on literature on EU finances
Data gathering and coding for the dataset at a later stage
Assistance in general administrative and project-related tasks

Requirements

Currently enrolled at a German university and studying a relevant field such as political science, European studies, international relations or public policy
A completed Bachelor's degree with very good academic performance
Excellent English and German (written and spoken)
Strong interest and knowledge in research and research methods
Good knowledge of the EU is an asset
Structured and diligent working style

We are looking for a

Student Research Assistant - Finances of the European Union (gn)

part-time (10hrs/week), starting in November 2025. The DFG-funded Research Unit Reconfiguring Europe, based at the Jacques Delors Centre of the Hertie School, is seeking a student assistant to support its project on EU finances. The successful candidate will assist in developing a dataset on the EU's finances and support the project's broader research and administrative work. The initial contract will be for three months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.
