The history of MOL Lubricants dates back to 1907, when the Vacuum Oil Company’s lubricants factory began production in Almásfüzitő, Hungary. More than 110 years’ experience, a first rate technological background and valuable expertise have together contributed to the company’s continuously growing range of lubricants and chemicals and established the basis for regional expansion.

 

Why is it a great opportunity?

This role gives you the opportunity to take ownership of MOL‑LUB’s most important sourcing category — base oils and additives, the core ingredients behind every product we make. You will shape long‑term sourcing strategy, open new global markets, and influence decisions that directly impact cost, quality, and supply security. You’ll work with senior leaders, manage key suppliers across Europe and Asia, and drive high‑value negotiations that truly move the business forward.

  • Lead the strategic sourcing of MOL‑LUB’s most critical category - base oils and additives - ensuring cost efficiency, supply security, and top‑tier quality.

  • Build and execute long‑term category strategies, open new global sourcing markets, and manage high‑value tenders and supplier negotiations.

  • Analyze markets, identify new suppliers, and evaluate geopolitical, quality, and logistics risks to strengthen the supply chain.

  • Prepare strategic decision‑support materials, pricing models, and contract structures that guide multi‑year procurement decisions.

  • Manage key suppliers at a senior level, oversee performance and compliance, and coordinate cross‑functional collaboration across R&D, QA, production, sales, and supply chain.

Educational Background: You have a University or College degree.

 

Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years of strategic procurement experience, ideally in chemicals or oil & gas, with strong skills in category management, supplier portfolio management, contracting, and negotiation.

 

Skills & Mindset:

  • Fluent, negotiation‑level English (written and spoken).

  • Advanced IT skills, including MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) annd SAP (MM module).

  • International sourcing experience (EU + Asia) and the ability to operate confidently in a global supplier environment.

  • Strategic mindset and strong analytical capability, with proactive problem‑solving and effective teamwork.

  • Willingness to travel.

  • Chemical engineering background is a huge advantage.

  • Market and product knowledge, especially in base oils/additives, is a strong advantage.

  • Additional languages are a plus.
