Responsibilities

Steer and drive the high-level technology direction of Datapao, including how projects are delivered, solutions built, scaled, and technical teams enabled
Oversee the technology strategy of Datapao, including key technical areas, projects, capabilities, standards, and roadmaps; align them with business needs
Drive technical solution development from architecture design to hands-on implementation, liaising with cross-functional stakeholders
Accelerate scaling of Datapao as a solution provider by overseeing technical enablement, leveraging synergies across teams, facilitating enablement and internal training programs
Create best practices and SoPs to standardize the Datapao way of working, including architecture patterns and quality standards
Innovate service offerings to evolve solutions in line with customer needs
Oversee or lead key projects with hands-on involvement in technical leadership, planning, project delivery, technical escalation handling, and quality assurance
Act as a technical thought leader for Datapao, Databricks teams, key customer stakeholders, and the data community

Requirements

Played a senior role in teams designing and implementing data-intensive software and solutions
Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Cloud
Experience building complex data engineering, data science or AI solutions in a senior technical contributor role
Deep technology mastery in Databricks and Cloud, proficient with at least one major cloud provider (AWS or Azure)
Strategic focus with attention to implementation details and architecture-level considerations
Consultative approach thriving in customer-facing environments
Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to all audiences including senior management
Capability and willingness to lead individuals and teams towards technical and business objectives
Mentoring skills and strong predisposition to knowledge-sharing
Fluent in English and willing to travel up to 15% of the time
Nice-to-have: experience in start-up or scale-up environments
Experience with Generative AI and MLOps
Public thought leadership in data community or open-source contributions
Subject matter expertise in a key industry vertical (e.g. finance)
Multi-cloud or competitor knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP)
