Sourcing manufacturers across China specializing in custom mechanical components, PCB production, and electronic device manufacturing
Negotiating pricing, payment terms, tooling costs, and master supply agreements to optimize costs
Managing relationships with existing vendors and establishing a robust backup supplier network
Evaluating supplier capabilities, production capacity, quality systems, and technical expertise
Coordinating RFQs, supplier selection, and vendor qualification processes
Translating requirements between internal engineering teams and factory technicians
Reviewing blueprints, 3D CAD models, technical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical specifications with manufacturers
Supporting Design for Manufacturing (DFM) discussions and providing feedback from suppliers
Auditing manufacturing processes to ensure strict adherence to quality and tolerance standards
Coordinating prototype builds, engineering validation, pilot production, and mass production activities
Building timelines for prototyping, tooling development, PCB fabrication, assembly, testing, and mass production phases
Tracking production milestones on-site or via regular factory check-ins to prevent bottlenecks
Monitoring supplier performance and production schedules to ensure on-time delivery
Resolving delays proactively by identifying alternative manufacturing methods, suppliers, or expedited logistics solutions
Coordinating shipping schedules and supply chain activities to meet project deadlines

Mechanical expertise in CNC, casting, stamping, welding, fasteners
PCB/PCBA/SMT and electronics components sourcing
4+ years technical sourcing/purchasing experience in China with direct manufacturer relationships
Prototype-to-mass-production experience
Native or bilingual Mandarin language skills
Professional English language skills
Blueprint reading skills
Knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Knowledge of GD&T
Experience with ERP and project management tools
Negotiation skills
Supplier management skills
Willingness to travel within China
Experience with NPI and ISO 9001
