Responsibilities

Work alongside experienced engineers as part of a development team
Support existing projects
Explore and prototype ideas for the future
Work across all aspects of the software life cycle
Upstream code into an Open Source project

Requirements

Currently enrolled and studying towards a Degree (Bachelors, Masters or PHD)
A real passion for computing beyond studies
A creative and structured approach to problem-solving
Solid knowledge of C and/or C++ or interest in maintaining developer aiding infrastructures
Comfortable communicating within a small team in English
A desire for learning and self-improvement

Nice-to-have

Knowledge of computer architectures, ideally Arm, Open Source project interaction or contribution, Operating system kernel or device drivers development, Compilation technology (LLVM), JIT (Just In Time) compilers and Runtime, Android, ChromeOS, Linux internals/middleware development, Linux kernel development, Understanding of the details of CPU architectures (pipelines, caches, MMUs, Interrupt Controllers, timers), Hands on experience with hardware and software debuggers, Knowledge of other languages, such as shell, Rust, Python, Java, Any testing and/or verification knowledge, Experience with any automation, DevOps and CI/CD tools and frameworks

Company info

The Software group is responsible for developing and improving the software ecosystem around Arm's next generation of applications processors. This frequently means working with processors and other hardware technology not yet available to the public. We work on a range of development platforms, software-models, FPGAs and early silicon, sometimes many months/years before the processors are available in real products.
