Responsibilities
The Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI) is the world’s largest and most advanced high-power laser research infrastructure.
As an international user facility dedicated to multi-disciplinary science, ELI provides access to world-class high-power, high-repetition-rate laser systems and enables cutting-edge research, as well as breakthrough technological innovations.
The ELI organization is multi-site with two complementary facilities: ELI Beamlines in Dolní Břežany (Czech Republic) and ELI ALPS in Szeged (Hungary).
ELI is developing and deploying a growing set of services supporting its user programme and is seeking a software engineer to join our team and participate in the design, development and operation of these services.
The duties and responsibilities in the position include but are not limited to the following:

ELI is developing and deploying a growing set of services supporting its user programme and is seeking a software engineer to join our team and participate in the design, development and operation of these services.
The duties and responsibilities in the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Collaboration with internal stakeholders on user access services;
- Software development and IT operations support for web services related to user access;
- UI/UX design and development of web frontend components;
- Support of implementation of web backend services and APIs (REST/GraphQL)
- Implementation of unit and end-to-end tests;
- Design, development and documentation of solutions towards the integration of services related to user access.
Requirements
- University degree in computer science, Engineering or related field;
- At least 5 years experience in software development;
- Solid understanding of React, Angular or other JavaScript based web development frameworks;
- Experience with backend services and technologies (NodeJs, TypeScript/Python or other object-oriented programming language);
