Eaton's Services team is accelerating the advancement of its service offerings and scaling plans to implement software solutions for customers worldwide.
The Sales Support Representative (German speaker) is primarily responsible for supporting the sales of assigned services to grow revenue and enhance customer satisfaction. This role aims to improve customer satisfaction and revenue growth by effectively managing sales leads and opportunities, and building strong relationships with customers and partners. By serving as an escalation point and collaborating with various teams, the Service Sales Support Representative ensures timely and effective customer service, optimizes the install base, and drives continuous improvement in sales processes.
Additionally, this position involves providing product and service selection assistance to customers, end users, field sales, IT channels, distributors, and resellers within the designated territory. The representative will develop product-related awareness and knowledge for both internal and external customers, and represent the company to customers. Partnering with field sales, the representative will support and influence designated sales goals.
Job responsibilities
- Promote and sell distributed services and products via phone or e-mail; educating customers on the impact the product has on their business thus offering product related services or product replacement to customers
- Responsible for generating and following up service quotations sent to our customers
- Proactively act to understand and solve customer needs and identify solutions to non-standard tasks/queries
- Provide good follow up on ongoing quotes until receiving Purchase Order from customer
- Proactively contacting customers based on generated Leads to increase service revenue of Eaton
- Gain deep understating on the distributed product portfolio and related services with the clear understanding of the impact it has on the customer thus maximising sales potentials
- Establish professional and best practice contacts with the customers
- Constant co-operation with sales, finance and product departments in order to acquire and maintain an extensive knowledge of the internal workings of these departments and their processes. Work in collaboration with the technical sales support and marketing
- Instigates regular meetings with sales and channel managers in order to establish and verify the forecast and work progress
- They have a sales target to start to take direct ownership of some accounts (i.e. contract renewals, less technical sales, etc)
- Able to detect and escalate problem or error with data that he/she is responsible for
- Service maintenance contract management and upsell focus to capture new business opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from an accredited institution or equivalent professional degree
- Minimum 2 years of sales experience preferably on electrical/IT/telecommunications
Skills:
- Languages: German (B2–C1) and English (fluent) required; additional European languages are an advantage
- Strong understanding of software applications and customization capabilities
- Technical sales aptitude and analytical skills
- Market, industry, channel, and competitive knowledge
- Knowledge of export business rules (as required)
- Negotiation and consultative selling skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive customer relationships through active listening and timely issue resolution
- Strong business acumen and ability to navigate corporate and channel structures
- Teamwork, networking, and continuous learning mindset
- Adaptability and ability to drive change and process improvements
- Ability to build and manage a sales funnel using CRM tools with accurate reporting
