Responsibilities

Ownership of end-to-end quality for key product areas
Building reliable automated coverage across API and service layer
Driving test strategy decisions and proposing solutions
Writing production-quality Python automation
Leading test strategy decisions and guiding coverage and implementation
Migrating Python automation suite to Playwright
Acting as quality steward for critical backend services, APIs, and data flows
Designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test suites in Python
Leading automation design decisions for test pyramid and suite stability
Building and improving Python test framework focusing on reliability and speed
Partnering with developers and product managers during requirements and design phases
Reviewing test-related code including AI tooling output
Guiding unit and integration testing practices
Debugging complex failures using production telemetry
Defining and maintaining CI/CD quality gates in GitHub
Developing practical test data strategies for automated and exploratory testing
Contributing to non-functional testing including performance, reliability, and security-by-default
Mentoring QA engineers and developers on Python automation best practices

Requirements

4+ years of experience in QA automation or Test Engineering with deep Python automation development
Strong API testing experience using Python-based frameworks
Solid understanding of REST APIs, web services, and event-driven systems
Experience building and maintaining automation inside CI/CD pipelines including GitHub Actions
Clean, reusable Python code with thoughtful design patterns
Confidence leading technical discussions on test strategy and automation approach
Comfort using modern AI tools with engineering judgment and ownership

Nice-to-have

Playwright experience or genuine interest in learning it
Contract testing experience using Pact or similar tools
Performance testing experience, k6 preferred
Docker and cloud-native familiarity with microservices architectures
Test management and traceability experience using tools like TestRail, Testmo, or similar
Documentation habits in Confluence or Coda
