Responsibilities

Technical leadership on LLVM compiler development for Arm
Ownership of key areas of performance optimisation
Steering work from design through delivery
Shaping direction for compiler optimisations targeting Arm architectures
Mentoring engineers inside the LLVM team and community
Representing Arm in the LLVM ecosystem
Leading upstream contributions and influencing community direction
Building alignment with partners
Partnering across internal Arm teams to define priorities and ensure technical alignment
Delivering integrated solutions supporting Arm’s roadmap
Championing process and quality improvements in development workflows
Profiling methodologies and performance benchmarking

Requirements

Excellent programming skills in C/C++
LLVM open source community citizenship including code commits and reviews
Hands-on experience in analysing performance bottlenecks
Experience in low-level software or hardware development involving computer architecture specifications
Proficiency in software development methodologies including coding, testing, debugging, reviewing
Effective communication skills to influence internal or external partners
Collaboration across teams and sites
Proactive problem-solving ability

Nice-to-have

Experience with Profile Guided Optimization (PGO)
Understanding of computer architecture
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
Familiarity with Linux performance analysis tools and system level performance tuning
Familiarity with build systems and CI
