Responsibilities

Design, implement, review, and test features in an Agile environment
Contribution to system architecture and future-state platform design
Build and optimize scalable data processing solutions
Develop and integrate AI/ML capabilities into data workflows
Prototype and validate backend approaches
Collaboration with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to refine requirements and user stories
Ensure reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency of solutions
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery to production
Follow and promote best practices in code quality and testing

Requirements

5+ years experience in hands-on development role at a commercial software company
Strong experience with Python and common libraries
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL and ElasticSearch
Solid experience with cloud native development, preferably AWS
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or AWS CDK (TypeScript)
Problem-solver attitude with technology agnostic approach
Good written and oral communications
Solid troubleshooting ability and skills
Ability to contribute to the effectiveness of a high-performing agile team and product innovation
Successful management of own workload and personal responsibility for delivery, behaviors, and self-improvement
Keen to improve processes and share knowledge across the team

Nice-to-have

Experience with system design and scalable distributed systems, Proven experience building and maintaining data pipelines, Experience with Apache Spark and/or Apache Airflow, Familiarity with AI/ML models and their integration into data pipelines, Understanding of cost-efficient data and AI processing, Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud deployments such as Docker and GitHub Actions, Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
