Your Role

Work as part of an interdisciplinary development team to further develop our multi-beam electron microscope, the “ZEISS MultiSEM”—currently the world's fastest electron microscope—and thereby tap into new markets and applications
Contribute to the strategic direction of our software products by further developing architectural concepts
Use modern software tools to program product and application software for multi-beam electron microscopy and the equipment required for its fabrication and characterization
Develop and refine new software solution strategies and algorithms based on existing software
Create the necessary documentation
Collaborate on projects for the further development of multi-beam electron microscopes and, where appropriate, take on subprojects or work packages related to software topics

Requirements

Your Profile

Excellent college degree (Master's/Diploma) in computer science, physics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field
Excellent knowledge of object-oriented programming in .NET/C#, multithreading, and Visual Studio/Azure DevOps, and ideally good knowledge of one or more of the following areas: ASP.NET, gRPC, integration of device drivers, implementation of image processing algorithms, communication models/protocols, and database and client-server applications
Excellent knowledge of software architecture design, hands-on experience with refactoring and maintaining industrial codebases
Familiarity with TDD, SOLID principles, and design patterns, as well as architectural patterns such as Clean Architecture or Hexagonal Architecture; ideally, you also have a good understanding of Windows and Linux, Docker and container orchestration, microservice architectures, and database technologies
Ideally, a deep understanding of the control of complex optical machines, the integration of electronic components, and high-speed data processing, as well as some experience in project management
A structured, independent, and goal-oriented approach to work; quick comprehension; strong communication skills; a strong willingness to learn and work hard; excellent team spirit; and very good written and spoken German and English skills
