Responsibilities

Providing strategic, commercially grounded legal advice on complex data, index, technology, and strategic partnership matters
Advising senior stakeholders on legal risk, regulatory considerations, and risk–reward balance of transactions
Identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal and commercial risks with risk-adjusted solutions
Leading and owning negotiations for complex licensing agreements involving inbound data and index licensing
Structuring, drafting, and reviewing a broad range of commercial agreements aligned with business objectives
Acting as a strategic legal partner to business, product, and technology teams on new initiatives and product development
Providing legal input on regulatory, intellectual property, data usage, and risk considerations
Supporting strategic decision-making by advising on legal implications of new opportunities, partnerships, and business models
Advising on structuring and governance of strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and collaborations with data and index providers and other strategic partners
Participating in local, regional, and global initiatives to drive industry-leading data and technology solutions across platforms and ways of working

Requirements

7+ years of relevant experience as a commercial transactions attorney in a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department
Experience preferably within an index provider, exchange, or financial services or financial technology industry with focus on data and index licensing and technology transactions
Hungarian qualification and bar admission or equivalent law degree such as LL.B. (UK), J.D. (US)
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Ability to rapidly understand business objectives and assess legal, commercial, reputational, operational, and other relevant risks
Ability to deliver pragmatic, business-oriented solutions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to explain complex legal issues to non-legal stakeholders
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a global legal team
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple competing priorities
