Responsibilities

Design and implement core authentication and authorization
Build and maintain the entitlement decision cache
Standardize API error handling with correlated request IDs
Develop catalog APIs with entitled metadata exposure and full-text/faceted search
Build core data access endpoints with shared cursor-pagination and query-filter executor
Implement synchronous and asynchronous read paths through the Query Accelerator
Implement non-blocking usage-event emission and the GET /usage/me summary endpoint
Build the MCP tool-definition generator kept in sync with the OpenAPI contract via CI
Contribute to API design during discovery including OpenAPI v1 contract, query/pagination grammar, auth/entitlement architecture, and MCP tool-definition and usage-event schemas

Requirements

Hands-on experience building and deploying services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Familiarity with Cloud Run, IAM, Cloud Logging/Monitoring, and GCP networking (PSC/VPC)
Strong core Java (17+) and modern JVM development
Experience with Quarkus or Spring Boot with willingness to work in Quarkus
REST API design and implementation
OpenAPI/contract-first development
Automated testing discipline with unit tests written alongside code
Comfort with contract and integration testing
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployment
Ability and willingness to work within AI-agent-first software development model
