Responsibilities

Build and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure environment on AWS using Infrastructure as Code tools
Oversee the deployment, configuration and management of clusters
CI/CD pipeline development with designing and managing CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps toolset and skillset
Maintain and adjust monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure
Ensure security best practices including managing access controls, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements
Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and consistency across deployments and operations
Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of application with strong GitOps approach
Mentor junior DevOps engineers and provide guidance on best practices
Ensure application stability with technical E2E incident analyses, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and Ops support

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Interaction Design, or related field
5+ years in DevOps engineer roles, ideally in enterprise-grade web applications
Hands-on experience with designing, developing, deploying and operating cloud platforms especially AWS
Configuration management with Terraform and knowledge of CaaS architecture
Knowledge of microservice architectures and Rest interfaces
Version controlling, code merging and CI/CD workflows and tools with GitLab, automation, GitOps
Monitoring and adjustments of automated system health checks
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Opentelemetry (especially Lumina) and Grafana
Familiarity with DevOps and modern engineering practices
Experience with modern languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js including cloud solution design patterns
Constructive problem solving, self-management and result oriented mindset
Ability to analyse, troubleshoot and resolve issues in a cloud-native environment
Strong communication skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams
Attention to detail
Curiosity and interest in latest technologies especially in cloud, DevOps and modern engineering topics, GitOps
Fluent English
Passion for continuous learning and adoption of new technologies

Nice-to-have

Knowledge of platform security and policies
DB administration with PostgresSQL
Experience with GeoServer
Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudFormation
German language skills
