Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the preparation and compilation of tender documents for hydropower, dam and major water resource development projects, based primarily on the FIDIC standard conditions of contract
  • The contractual leadership of the entire construction contract procurement process including support to the Employer during tendering, tender evaluation and contract negotiations lies in your hand
  • You advise and support international teams in all aspects of construction contract management, from team setup to contract administration and change management
  • In addition, you manage claims, contribute to conciliation and arbitration proceedings and deliver trainings or workshops as needed
  • You provide assistance in project management for hydropower and water resource planning and implementation, including the control of interdisciplinary engineering teams
  • Your role entails construction scheduling, including analysis and development to assess delay and disruption claims and determine deadline extensions
  • You prepare technical quotations for engineering services, and provide support during the corresponding contract negotiations

Requirements

  • You successfully completed studies in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying with focus on construction management or contract management
  • You have at least 20 years of relevant professional experience, including overseas work, with a minimum of 8 years in ongoing specialist construction contract procurement/management, preferably with hydropower project experience
  • You impress with your in-depth knowledge and extensive experience in procuring large construction services (preferably electromechanical) for hydropower or similar projects, aligned with procurement rules of development banks, including tender documents, bid procedures, evaluation, and contract awarding
  • In-depth knowledge and extensive experience with the management of FIDIC-based construction contracts as well as experience with non-standard EPC or other types of contracts complements your professional profile
  • Initial experience in the field of BIM would be desirable
  • You are familiar with common construction scheduling software and techniques
  • You are willing to travel both domestically and internationally as required
  • You speak English at legal practice level, additional foreign languages, including German, would be an advantage
