Responsibilities

Lead performance analysis by identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities based on large and complex data sets.
Translate financial and business questions into structured data-driven analyses and scenario models.
Drive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting with strong ownership and a clear focus on data consistency and quality.
Contribute to the development and consolidation of scalable financial data pools and reporting structures.
Act as a sparring partner between Finance, Business, and IT-related stakeholders.
Support the build-up and continuous improvement of controlling processes, tools, and structures.
Take on ad-hoc and cross-functional tasks that arise in a growing finance organization.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, controls, and defined performance KPIs.

Requirements

Master-s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Several years of experience in Business Controlling, Financial Analysis, or comparable roles with increasing responsibility.
Strong affinity for data, systems, and financial data models; experience working with large data sets and multiple data sources.
Solid understanding of how financial data is generated, structured, and integrated across systems.
Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, SQL, and Microsoft applications; experience with data platforms, automation, or analytics environments is an advantage.
Hands-on mentality and flexibility to work in an environment where structures and processes are still evolving.
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly to different stakeholders.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and analytically driven Senior Business Controller to join our finance team in Hamburg.

In this role, you will take ownership of a broad range of responsibilities that go beyond classic business controlling. You will play a key role in shaping reliable financial decision-making by structuring, consolidating, and developing complex financial data foundations in a growing and evolving environment.

This position combines strong business partnering with a solid understanding of data structures, systems, and financial data flows. As the team and its processes are currently being built up, the role requires a hands-on mindset and the willingness to contribute pragmatically to topics beyond traditional role boundaries.
