Scientist - Microbiology / Biochemistry (LV)

• Project-based working with the focus of biochemical test kit development in the field of food and feed industry.
• Design, develop and establish manufacturing and QC processes for manufacturing.
• Support transfer and regular production activities.
• Ensure products meet approved specifications and standards through adequate verification and validation practices.
• Communicating with internal departments and external stakeholders (incl. laboratory partners, suppliers) with the aim of developing new products based on our clients’ needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Development of prototype biochemical test kits following internal new product development protocol and international standards.
• Participation in the development, transfer and production establishment of biochemical test kits designed for microbiological identification in the context of food safety.
• Verification of product conformity with product requirement criteria.
• Translation of lab scale processes into standard and scalable manufacturing workflows. Advise possible production improvements and product maintenance in later stages.
• Preparation of validation documents in accordance with internal new product development regulations.
• Training technical experts and manufacturing / QC technicians on the newly developed and validated manufacturing and QC methods and procedures.
• Supporting evaluation and investigation of nonconformities.

• MSc degree in a related scientific discipline (Biology, Microbiology, Virology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiologist, Bioengineer or a comparable qualification). 
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant position (mikrobiológus, biokémikus, termékfejlesztő).
• Experience in coordination of complex development projects 
• Experienced in processing scientific data and presenting it clearly and concisely. 
• Strong background in microbiology, ideally also in biochemistry.
• Knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis.
• Experience in quality control and continuous improvement.
• Experience in preparing scientific project updates.
• Fluent English 

• PhD is a plus.
• Experience in manufacturing of biochemical detection kits, culture media is a plus.
