Responsibilities
Portfolio Management & Monitoring
- Steer retail credit risk within the GmbH by assessing product changes from a credit risk perspective.
- Oversee retail credit portfolio performance and risk appetite adherence.
- Support stress testing and business planning activities.
Policy & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with credit policies and regulatory requirements.
- Develop training for relevant departments within GmbH.
- Perform control testing, develop, optimise and maintain the Internal Control System.
- Support internal and external audits.
Risk Controls & Frameworks
- Responsible for the development of quality standards and oversight frameworks.
- Develop and implement data-driven controls, including forbearance and Definition of Default monitoring.
- Advise on Early Warning Indicator (EWI) and develop, optimise and maintain Watchlist frameworks.
- Supervise property valuation processes.
Process & Governance
- Develop, optimise and maintain credit risk policies incl. affordability rule setting and credit authority delegations.
- Design and optimize credit processes.
- Own credit risk-related committees and ensure effective governance.
- Manage risk-relevant underwriting and Credit Policy Exceptions (CPE).
- Drive regulatory change management initiatives
Strategic Insight
- Provide business and market intelligence to inform risk decisions.
- Assessing changes on portfolio and strategy regarding credit risk .
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant subject (business economics, engineering, statistics, econometrics, applied mathematics, or similar)
- Experience with portfolio monitoring, risk appetite management and stress testing
- Several years of experience working in 2nd line financial risk functions within the financial sector, including several years in an EU (preferably ECB supervised) bank
- Experience across all stages of the customer lifecycle for mortgage and personal loan products (origination, loan servicing, early arrears, intensified – and problem loan management)
- Proper understanding and knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g. MaRisk, EBA GLOM, DoD, Forbearance)
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders, including senior management and regulators
- Familiarity with EWI frameworks, watchlist processes, and property valuation concepts
- Proficiency in data-driven risk monitoring and reporting
- Fluency in written and spoken English and German
