About the job
- Support the regional sales leadership with appropriate information, commentary, reporting, analysis, forecasting, budgeting, financial models, margin and cash flow insight which will enable him/her make correct strategic decisions which will maximize regional sales volumes and average net selling prices, minimizing operating expenses and capital expenditure
- Responsible for corporate and statutory financial matters within the regions
- Act as the contact for all matters regarding tax/legal/internal control/financing/compliance within the region as a whole
- Leverage in full the support of SSC finance team to ensure effective oversight of the region’s financial results and overall financial management including e.g. controls, SOX, A/R, A/P, financial accounting and reporting and credit management
Your key tasks will be
- Partner Regional Sales Directors (Mediterranean / France & Benelux / Iberia) on commercial issues
- Own regional actual results, budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, compliance and internal controls
- Support the regional/country management teams
- Lead finance contact on litigation, tax, audit, financing, insurance, restructuring issues
- Manage changes resulting from European projects
- Drive business performance together with Regional Sales Director
- Commercial analysis to explain movements in sales, margin, operating expenses, customer debt and cash
- Contribute incisively to the European financial management’s view of the business
What we are looking for
- At least 4-7 years of experience from a senior finance management position
- Fluency in English is a must – both written and verbal
- Degree in Economics or Finance & Accounting
- Practical experience of financial analysis in an international context
- Proven track record, preferably in an industrial B2B enterprise with a complex product portfolio and supply chain
- Understanding of currency and product mix, also volume/price variances
- Demonstrated strategic planning / execution skills in a sales environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking and presentation skills
- Strong working knowledge of budgeting, business development and project management
- Ability to positively influence and generate respect / trust from staff and external constituencies
- Understanding of board level legal, tax, financing or other commercial risk issues
- Solid Excel skills and other MS Office literacy are a must
- You will stand out if you have:
- US GAAP knowledge
- Qualified accountant certification
- Italian, French or Spanish language knowledge
