Responsibilities

  • Proactive identification and systematic work on opportunities to drive productivity and insourcing savings within the business
  • Operation as an internal project manager within the procurement team and across a global network of divisions, groups, functions and categories to ensure successful project completion
  • Identification, design, and implementation of novel business solutions for procurement in conjunction with relevant business partners
  • Leadership of project planning, business case development, management and budgeting
  • Coordination of distributed project teams and identification of key partners
  • Direction of on-time, quality delivery of work products including implementation economics, risks and communications
  • Definition of deliverable structure and content and facilitation of agreement of proposed solutions from functional, business unit and site leadership, site operations, and other key partners
  • Leading and supporting multiple group projects and initiatives from opportunity identification through business case development and project execution ensuring delivery of value
  • Implementation of effective communication plans and delivery of presentations to propose key initiatives, provide critical implementation updates, operational line-of-sight, and demonstrate delivery of value
  • Monitoring of key risks and impact through scenario planning
  • Performance of analysis to identify value through financial and options analysis, identification of required achievements and results, implementation plans and resources
  • Support of Make vs Buy analysis to support strategic sourcing and investment decisions
  • Tracking of confidentiality commitments and clearances for all projects
  • Support of integration of new acquisitions including delivery and reporting of synergy savings
  • Reporting on projects, pipeline with Group/Category visibility, and AOP financial targets including adoption of a standard tool and processes
  • Coordination of data inputs across the function to enable key reporting visibility and insights
  • Development of standard reporting requirements and driving process improvements using business partner inputs and knowledge of existing systems and constraints
  • Application of consistent project management approaches and processes, reporting roadblocks and variances to project plan, ensuring projects are on schedule and achieve stated objectives
  • Tracking and monitoring timely completion of project achievements within the portfolio, plan vs actual and reporting progress as required
  • Orchestration of project governance including regular cadence of PMO sessions
  • Running overall project plans, tracking key deliverables, handling overall schedules, budgets, resources, timelines and monthly business reviews
  • Detection and facilitation of issue resolution including appropriate actions to address program risk
  • Maintenance of document repository and file structure as well as access rights; owning cataloguing and monitoring version control on key documents
  • Coordination of global, cross-functional, geographically distributed teams to achieve desired outcomes
  • Working with key partners to achieve key deliverables on time and within plan, developing relationships within the company to complete assigned projects
  • Integration of diverse views while participating in targeted content deep dive sessions to enable problem solving
  • Collaboration with Procurement Enablement team on reporting cadences to achieve a single source of truth for the savings pipeline and inflation
  • Development of executive level presentations with concise storytelling

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Science or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • MBA desirable
  • Certification in Project Management desirable
  • Five plus years experience leading programs and project initiatives preferably within a Procurement function
  • Life Sciences, BioTech, or Pharma industry preferred
  • Experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Category Management preferred
  • Process improvement background (PPI, Lean, Six Sigma, etc) preferred
  • Robust project management skills and capabilities including Gantt charts, dashboards, key deliverables and baseline development
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to efficiently organize forums and coordinate communication with team members
  • Excellent communication skills for structuring ideas in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and present to Senior Leadership
  • Proficiency in MS-Office tools specifically MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently, within a team, and collaboratively across teams
  • Ability to lead matrix project teams of peers and other partners and navigate within a matrix environment
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple sites and platforms in a virtual office environment
  • Solid financial competence
  • Multi-tasking skills and planning for prioritizing personal workload
  • Ability to navigate change effectively and frequently
  • Ability to travel between 0-20% on an annual basis
