Responsibilities

Design and development of a brand new cricket tracking system
Ownership of tracking pipelines across the full system
Definition and evolution of system architecture
Driving robustness, accuracy and performance in live sports environments
Collaboration with stakeholders including senior leadership to align technical delivery with product goals
Support of integration into broader tracking, broadcast and platform systems
Exploration of future capabilities including AR and broadcast enhancements
Leadership of computer vision systems development from concept through to production
Setting technical direction and standards across algorithmic and engineering approaches
Ownership of system architecture ensuring long-term scalability, maintainability and quality
Guidance and support of a small squad of engineers including mentoring and unblocking team members
Translation of business and product requirements into technical roadmaps and delivery plans
Driving architectural discussions around performance, scalability and deployment
Acting as a technical escalation point for complex challenges
Collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders

Requirements

Strong commercial experience developing computer vision algorithms in production environments
Deep knowledge of modern C++ within large and complex systems
Strong experience with 3D geometry, tracking and numerical optimisation
Proven experience designing systems or leading major architectural work
Ability to operate at both detailed algorithm level and high-level system design
Strong communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders
Experience mentoring or leading engineers within a team

Nice-to-have

Experience with CUDA or GPU acceleration, Awareness of concurrency, networking or operating system concepts, Experience working with distributed or cloud-based systems, Exposure to machine learning techniques

Salary range of £76,340 – £109,060 base salary plus bonus and benefits
