Player Management – Backend Engineering Team Lead

Lead a team of talented people and take overall responsibility for team performance
Drive the delivery of the team and promote a healthy team spirit and culture
Ensure each individual in the team is given support in their career development
Actively participate as a hands-on member of the team
Build a high performing team through recruitment, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and continuous improvement
Direct line management of people in the team, accountable for their performance, satisfaction and career development planning
Drive and facilitate the team’s delivery to production in terms of time and quality
Foster a team culture of ownership, collaboration, and passion for delivering quality products
Motivate the team to maintain high technical standards, especially reliability and uptime
Collaborate with wider technical leadership for architectural direction and alignment on ways of working
Facilitate discussion, decision making, knowledge sharing, planning and conflict resolution
Ensure team processes and routines are defined, organised, continuously reviewed and optimised
Take responsibility for resolving or escalating impediments to team performance
Serve as main point of contact for the team, facilitating communication and coordination with other teams
Ensure all administrative tasks related to the team are performed timely
Ensure all roles in the team are well defined and communicated, delegate responsibilities
Split time approximately 50/50 between team leadership activities and technical work
