Physicist or Analytical Engineer (ETH / EPF)

FEM Simulation – Vibrational, Thermal and Radiative Mechanics

for Space Structures

Working in collaboration with our mechanical and electrical engineering departments, you will have the opportunity to take part in the development of a lunar rover, supporting the design process by providing insights through simulations of mechanical, thermal and radiative structures.

Your profile:

• You are a physicist or analytical engineer with a pronounced taste for mathematics, applied physics and finite element simulation.
• Degree PhD welcome but not mandatory.
• You have excellent knowledge of structural analysis using FEM (ideally ABAQUS or equivalent) and can use a FEM simulation application for non-linear structural analysis.
• You are able to implement your own custom sub-routines in C or C++ and .
• You are interested in optimizing mechanical, thermal and radiative structures by analytical calculation.
• You are capable of solving systems of differential equations with partial derivatives and complex boundary conditions.
