Responsibilities

About the Department
The Performance & Risk Analytics team is part of the Risk Management function and is responsible for analyzing, monitoring and reporting the performance and risk of investment portfolios across asset classes. The team works closely with Investment, Product Management and Sales to provide high-quality analytics, ensure regulatory compliance and support data-driven decision-making. In addition, the department continuously improves reporting processes and develops analytical tools and applications.

Your Tasks

Monitor and analyze the performance of investment portfolios across different asset classes
Prepare performance attribution and contribution analyses
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of performance and risk reports
Maintain and improve data quality and data management processes
Develop and enhance existing reporting tools and create new analytical reports
Act as a first point of contact for performance-related questions from internal stakeholders
Support regulatory requests and contribute to responses for Requests for Proposals (RfPs)
Collaborate closely with Investment, Operations, Product Management and Sales teams
Participate in internal projects and contribute to process improvements
Continuously develop analytical skills and expand knowledge in areas such as ESG

Requirements

Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Business Administration or a related quantitative field
Alternatively, certifications such as FRM, CRM, MBA or strong practical experience in portfolio or risk management
Strong understanding of financial instruments and portfolio analytics
Advanced Excel skills and experience with performance/risk analytics tools (e.g. Tableau or similar)
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
Basic understanding of IT requirements engineering or affinity for data and systems
Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex topics clearly
Structured and organized working style

Nice-to-have

SimCorp Dimension experience is an advantage
Experience in Risk Management, Asset Management or a similar environment
German language skill is an advantage

The Middle Office Services department is part of the Operations division of Erste Asset Management. The Middle Office Services acts as a contact point for fund managers and operates as an interface between the Depository Bank, fund managers and advisers/clients of externally/internally managed funds. Our responsibilities include the additional support function of internal fund managers as far as insourcing funds and brokers are concerned. Insourcing funds are investment funds administrated by external asset manager and managed by Erste Asset Management. We are involved in processes like monitoring cash flows for EMIR derivatives and trade repository as well as being in charge for the internal and external broker list.
