Responsibilities

We are seeking a student-focused and collaborative Librarian to support reading, research, and inquiry skills for students in Grades 6–12, and to work closely with teachers in a supportive international school environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the library collection (print and digital resources)
Support students with reading, research, and information literacy skills
Assist students with projects, research tasks, and extended assignments
Collaborate with teachers during lessons and inquiry-based projects
Support the use of library systems, databases, and digital tools
Provide translation support (English–Hungarian and Hungarian–English) for school documents, communications, and internal materials as needed
Maintain the library as a welcoming, safe, and well-organised learning space
Deliver library orientation sessions for new students and staff
Work collaboratively with the library assistant
Participate in school events and ongoing professional development

Requirements

Teaching qualification or library qualification
Experience working in a school environment
Strong command of English (working language of the school)
Confident digital and information management skills
Good communication and collaboration skills

Nice-to-have

Qualification as an English teacher, translator
Experience in an international or IB school
Experience supporting secondary-level research projects
Knowledge of library management systems (e.g. Destiny/Follett)
Familiarity with contemporary young adult literature
