Why Patients Need You

The Medical Affairs Scientist is the medical scientific companies’ POC for HCPs, medical societies, regulators, academia and other ext. scientific stakeholders by using a patient-centric approach in all medical/clinical engagement and provide innovative solutions based on customer needs.  

  

The key responsibilities in this role include: 

  • Lead medical conversation through science by partnering with broad range of stakeholders including healthcare professionals (HCPs), medical societies and other healthcare-related organizations and academia. In this role MAS will be at the heart of science focused on our breakthroughs that transform patients´ lives
  • Have full medical responsibility for assigned Pfizer product/s. Develop and implement customer-focused medical strategies
  • Act as the scientific point of contact for HCPs and develop enduring relationships with opinion leaders, professional societies, national advisors, contributors to national and/or regional formularies through multiple channels
  • Advance KOL and institutional involvement in Pfizer-sponsored research and initiate and enhance research collaborations with key customers
  • Provide medical input into strategic plans for nominated therapeutic area and products, identify and share actionable medical customer insights 
  • Review of therapeutic area related materials, event contents to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance.
  • Communicate customer feedback on product development and life-cycle strategies
  • Exclusively reactive communication about recent scientific data on the portfolio and on products in development, i.e. provide answers to specific scientific questions, or provide scientific materials as per HCP’s request (so-called pull-type communication)
  • No active (meaning communication initiated by the MAS, so-called push-type communication) product-related communication with HCPs
  • Provide high-standard scientific presentations at internal and external meetings
  • Identify opportunities for customer focused digital solutions and contribute to their creation
  • Build strategic partnerships and strong collaboration with internal colleagues and effectively lead cross-functional teams
  • Solicit feedback on clinical trial programs and protocols from potential investigators for innovative portfolio
  • Provide direct support and training to the cross functional team on medical matters related to nominated products
  • Maintain the highest scientific standards, independence and compliance in every medical/scientific external activity, as well as in scope internal processes

Qualifications

Education

  • Medical or equivalent doctoral degree in Health Sciences
  • MD, PhD or PharmD is a preference


Experience & Skills

  • Professional experience in a relevant therapeutic area (cardiovascular/anticoagulant and/or pain areas is ideal)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position in the pharmaceutical industry or related field
  • Strong scientific skills and/or clinical experience.
  • Good understanding of clinical research as well as the ability to critically evaluate clinical studies
  • Understanding of the national and regional health environment
  • Fluent spoken and written language skills in both Hungarian and English
  • Ability to work independently as well as in cross functional team
  • Business acumen and high level of industry understanding
  • Ability to work in an international setting in a matrix organization
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and partnering skills
  • Strong communication and presentations skills and ability to deliver scientific and strategic messages
  • Knowledge of the relevant and applicable Codes of Practice and regulations
