Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer in the Life Sciences division, you will design and develop solutions in both 2D and 3D. You will work independently or as part of an international design team alongside other design engineers. In doing so, you will be in continuous coordination with department management to ensure adherence to the design budget.

Development and design of our complex custom-built machines for Life Sciences customers
Conceptual system development in cooperation with electrical engineering and automation teams
Design of assemblies, machine elements, components, and modules using CAD tools (SolidWorks / Siemens NX / AutoCAD)
Creation and maintenance of bills of materials, as well as manufacturing and assembly documentation with production-ready drawings
Coordination and clarification of purchased parts with suppliers
Support during assembly and commissioning of the systems
Assistance to the applications department in the conceptual design of custom machines

Requirements

Completed vocational training in a metalworking-related field and/or a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field, or further qualification as a State-Certified Technician / Master Craftsman (m/f/d)
Relevant professional experience in design engineering, particularly in special-purpose machinery and plant engineering
In-depth industry knowledge in the Life Sciences sector
Proven CAD skills (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, AutoCAD advantageous)
Good working knowledge of PLM/PDM and ERP systems
Confident use of Microsoft Office applications
Self-motivation, commitment, a proactive working style, and strong teamwork skills
Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
