Lufthansa Technik's aircraft maintenance base in Budapest is looking for a new Material Management & Logistics Manager who will manage the Material Management & Logistics department and be responsible for leading and developing the local team of more than 25 people. Our new management team member will ensure smooth execution, high performance and cost efficiency of local material supply related processes.

Material Management & Logistics Manager

Task:

  • Overseeing and optimizing the local material supply operations, including material handling, logistics, customs, and coordination
  • Ensuring the efficient and cost-effective execution of the material supply processes, as well as maintaining high performance standards.
  • Managing all local internal and external logistics processes such as all warehouse related activities (receiving, inspection, issuing, picking, quarantine handling, shipping, storage of goods, etc.), internal/local transportation, customs clearance and overall coordination with Material Management & Logistics global units and OPS.
  • Functionally and disciplinarily leading onsite Supply Chain Management Experts, Customs, and warehouse employees, supervising and monitoring their tasks.
  • Disciplinarily supervision of Local Buyers and Customer Supplied Material Coordinators on-site.
  • Managing OKRs/KPIs, section budget and processes related to the areas in his/her area of responsibility whilst ensuring a compliant output from the team reporting to him/her.
  • Active participation in the GMM and the Lufthansa Technik Budapest (LTB) Management teams, participating in strategic decision/projects,
  • Oversight of GMM’s quality and internal audit procedures
  • Supervision of performance, training and professional development for on-site logistics staff
  • Creation of shift schedules to meet maintenance needs and ensure adherence to schedules
  • Generation of regular operational reports and data
  • Maintenance of high standards of cleanliness and compliance in the storage area
  • Determination of optimal storage methods and stock location
  • Planning and allocation of necessary resources
  • Development of annual stock counting plan and management of cycle counts to meet requirements
  • Provides support to stakeholders, other departments, and employees to ensure that business processes continue to operate efficiently.

Expectation:

  • Min a Bachelor degree, preferably in Economics, Engineering or Logistics
  • 5 years of experience in logistics and leadership
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Hungarian languages
  • Good communication skills
  • High stress tolerance and resilience
  • Flexible, committed, solution-oriented, attitude

Other:

  • Knowledge of overall MRO business and aircraft maintenance
  • Knowledge of current regulation requirements: EASA Part 145, FAA, Customs law, Export control, Integrity, and Competition compliance
