Responsibilities

Leading and growing a cross-functional engineering team combining developers and QA engineers
Collaborating closely with Product Managers and Designers to shape features from ideation to delivery
Raising the engineering bar through code reviews, mentoring, and continuous improvement practices
Driving technical direction including architecture, cloud strategy, observability, and test automation
Cultivating quality ownership by partnering with QA to evolve testing frameworks and increase automation coverage
Leveraging AI and automation to remove friction from development, testing, and operations
Championing responsible AI practices ensuring transparency, explainability, and control
Fostering a culture of curiosity and experimentation encouraging prototyping, measuring, and iterating rapidly
Contributing hands-on through code reviews, architecture discussions, and proof-of-concepts while empowering the team

Requirements

7+ years of professional software engineering experience
3+ years in a people management role
Solid technical foundation including system design, code quality, and architectural trade-offs
Product-focused mindset with attention to user impact and experience
Strong experience leading teams in agile environments balancing delivery speed with technical quality
Experience with modern development practices such as CI/CD, trunk-based development, infrastructure-as-code
Understanding of QA practices and automation with appreciation for testing in software development
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and curiosity about practical applications
Excellent communication skills to translate between product, design, and engineering

Nice-to-have

Hands-on background in .NET, Angular, Python or Node.js
Experience with Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), CICD, DevOps, SQL/NoSQL databases
Use of AI-assisted developer tools such as Copilot, CodeWhisperer, or automated code review systems
Track record of shipping high-quality, user-centered products
Natural drive to push boundaries, learn fast, and make others better
