Responsibilities

We are seeking a Manager of Software Engineering to guide the ongoing development of our LearningSpace platform. In this pivotal role, you will combine technical leadership with people management, overseeing the design and delivery of high-quality solutions while mentoring a talented engineering team.
You will ensure that engineering initiatives align with business goals and architectural standards, contributing directly to innovation and long-term technical excellence.

Leadership & Team Culture

Build and Mentor: Lead and develop software engineering teams, managing recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations to foster professional advancement.
Cultivate Culture: Create an environment of collaboration, transparency, and psychological safety, where continuous improvement and innovation are the norm.
Strategic Direction: Provide strategic vision for engineering initiatives while adapting to evolving technologies and market demands.

Technical Ownership & Delivery

End-to-End Delivery: Oversee the full lifecycle of software development projects, ensuring the delivery of reliable, scalable, and high-quality solutions.
Engineering Excellence: Work closely with Tech Leads to drive key design decisions and implement best practices, including Agile methodologies, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD processes.
Hands-on Support: Provide guidance and technical support when complex operational challenges arise.

Collaboration & Strategy

Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Product Management to align business needs with technical feasibility and product priorities.
Operational Success: Track engineering KPIs and delivery metrics, contributing to roadmap development, resource allocation, and process optimization.

Requirements

What You Bring to the Team

Experience: 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams with a strong technical foundation.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of modern languages and tools such as JavaScript, TypeScript, C/C++, Perl, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
Methodologies: Expertise in software development methodologies, system architecture, and the full SDLC.
Soft Skills: Outstanding leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams and promote a positive culture.
