Responsibilities
My client, an international manufacturing company is looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead and optimize the maintenance function at their Valea lui Mihai, Romania manufacturing site. The role ensures equipment integrity, reliability, availability, and safety while fully adhering to company maintenance procedures and the Asset Integrity Management System.
This is a key leadership position, driving operational excellence, technical support, and continuous improvement across the plant.

Maintenance Process Leadership
- Define and monitor the annual maintenance plan in collaboration with Plant Operations (inspections, interventions, operational checks).
- Oversee planning, scheduling, supervision, work close‑out, and the preparation of technical and economic reports.
- Manage the “Maintenance” sub‑process within the Asset Management framework, ensuring equipment reliability, availability, and integrity.
Maintenance Strategy & Optimization
- Contribute to the development of maintenance strategies aligned with production needs and corporate requirements.
- Identify and drive improvement actions aimed at enhancing maintenance performance and asset integrity.
- Support the use and update of maintenance information systems (excluding SAP).
Asset Integrity Management
- Ensure execution of asset integrity assurance reviews and contribute to their planning.
- Supervise compliance with technical standards and asset integrity requirements; monitor performance indicators and maintenance cycles.
Technical Coordination & On‑Site Support
- Provide technical support to production departments and cooperate with Operations, Engineering, HSEQ, and central functions.
- Ensure access to proper technical expertise, tooling, and contractor resources for maintenance activities.
KPI, Budget & Reporting
- Identify and track technical and economic maintenance KPIs; contribute to annual budget planning.
- Ensure full traceability of maintenance documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Safety & HSE Collaboration
- Work closely with HSE on maintenance risk assessments, work permits, lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO), and PPE requirements.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with HSE procedures.
Team Leadership
- Coordinate internal maintenance teams and external contractors, managing priorities and intervention plans.
- Verify competencies, qualification, and required technical certifications (electrical, equipment handling, work-at-height, etc.).
Requirements
- Industrial maintenance expertise (preventive, predictive, corrective) and familiarity with RCM, RBI, RAM methodologies.
- Ability to read technical drawings, P&ID, and electrical schematics.
- Strong technical leadership, problem‑solving, work planning, and contractor management skills.
Hard requirements
- Technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering — or equivalent practical experience.
- 5–8 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- English or Italian fluency required; Romanian and Hungarian language skills are an asset.
- Experience in coordinating resources and suppliers.
