Responsibilities

We are looking to strengthen our legal document analysis team of experienced analysts in the legal and/or finance fields. You would be involved in detailed analysis of capital markets legal documents, becoming an expert in complex capital markets investment structures and their translation into legal language. You would be working with us at the cutting edge of legal tech innovation, learning about the power of sophisticated AI and NLP tooling while developing a deep understanding of financial transaction structures.

Responsibilities:

Analyze legal documents in the capital market, to exacting standards defined by our senior analysts, and assisted by our legal research, AI and NLP technology
Process documentation on a timely basis taking client priorities into consideration
As part of an analyst team effort, maintain and improve documentation of analysis standards.
Collaborate with our language technology team to automate data extraction from legal documents
Carry out Quality Assurance of existing data using Semeris tools
Support ongoing training and development of future analyst team members
Support the growth and development of our software solutions by giving timely, constructive feedback to our internal developer team

Requirements

Fluency in English, Business English experience
Interest in the legal and finance business, with relevant higher education or significant work experience in at least one of those fields is greatly recommended
Highly logical thinking with tolerance for repetitive work, while recognising diverging patterns
Demonstrating aptitude and incentive to be creative, inventive and independent when working on additional projects
Interest in and curiosity for details
Strong communication skills
Strong work ethics with motivation and enthusiasm to learn and work hard
Good working knowledge of Excel/Word and Google Sheets/Docs. Strong foundational understanding of computer usage
Willingness to engage with our startup culture to push the company to new heights.
Valid work permit for employment in Hungary as Semeris cannot support third country nationals visa application process for this role

Nice-to-have

Advantage (not essential but supports application):

Experience in areas that require high levels of attention to detail
Experience with legal language
Data Analysis Skills (Excel, Python, Node JS, Java, C, C++, Rust, etc.)
Coding skills (Java, Node JS, Python)
Experience in using Large Language Models/ AI in a professional or technically demanding context
Machine Learning or NLP experience
Experience with complex financial instruments
We primarily welcome applicants based in Budapest or the surrounding area.

Employment and Compensation:

Competitive compensation depending on experience
Possibility of both part-time and full-time employment, with a strong preference for full-time employment
Hybrid work (Semeris is globally a remote-first organization) but the analyst team is now meeting weekly at our office in central Budapest. These meetings are considered mandatory and they have a very positive impact for facilitating team communication and collaboration. Additional office days may be introduced in future.
Please note that any remote work has to be performed from a physical location within Hungary
