Responsibilities

Building and improving features in Canvas from small fixes to full pieces of new functionality with guidance from senior engineers
Writing clean, tested code on both the frontend and the backend of the services the team owns
Taking part in code reviews including receiving feedback and reviewing others' work
Investigating bugs and production issues and helping fix them using logs, dashboards, and alerts
Joining planning and refinement with product and design to understand the purpose of features
Participating in team rituals such as standups and retrospectives
Sharing learning and growing skills in web accessibility, cloud infrastructure, security, and quality

Requirements

0-2 years of experience in software engineering including internships, personal projects, and bootcamps
Fluent Hungarian and good working English
Solid coding fundamentals including common coding patterns
Hands-on work with TypeScript and React
Working knowledge of relational databases
Basic understanding of document-based databases
Some knowledge of testing
Experience with Git and code review
Interest in frontend development and infrastructure
Habit of asking questions and learning from feedback

Nice-to-have

Knowledge of web accessibility
Interest in agentic coding or experience using AI coding tools
Experience with Java
Experience with cloud services or with monitoring and debugging running systems
Experience building products for education
